Pre-Construction team
In the spring of 2018, the Museum Association expanded its project team with the hiring of Connecticut firms, A/Z Corporation as the pre-construction manager and GEI Consultants to provide geotechnical services.

Design Update
The National Coast Guard Museum building is in the final design stages by project architect, Payette, with updates including a reorientation of the building’s front door, reduction in the extent of the glass façade, and the addition of an iconic sail motif to the riverside façade.

PROJECT TIMELINE
The last 18 months have seen a flurry of activity across the multiple elements of this complex project. The Museum Education Initiative, comprised of educators and museum experts, which designed the aspirational visitor experience and STEM Discovery Center, is complete and has been shared with the Coast Guard.
